Information Technology Lead

Job Description:

As key member of the team, the IT Lead will report to the VP of Operations & Quality and will assume a strategic and tactical role in the overall management of the company’s technology and related services. This is a great growth opportunity for a “hands on” IT generalist who can work with outside resources; plan, manage, and support all IT related systems and activities, including infrastructure, servers, network, computers, communication devices, data management, productivity rooms, and help desk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Yamaha IT department to keep the network linked to Japan and in compliance with Yamaha regulations
  • Work with external service providers and ensure systems are functional, reliable, and in compliance with standard policies, procedures, and quality and technology standards
Network & Systems
  • Manage and support network and systems to eliminate/reduce downtime, maximizes processing speed, and maintain lower repair costs
  • Maintain an infrastructure; landline and wireless network internet line, etc. that support the business needs
  • Implement and administer a disaster recovery plan that will keep the company functional in the event of a crisis
  • Determine the rationale and methods for upgrading company network software programs each time an update is released
Help Desk
  • Develop Helpdesk with documented tickets and provide focused desk top (laptop/tablet/printing/etc.) support
  • Manage service desk system to ensure timely and effective support
  • Monitor and manage key support metrics to ensure service goals are met
Hardware systems and tools
  • Manage desktop and mobility systems lifecycle; refresh hardware and software
  • Track and manage system and PC hardware assets
  • Manage employee on-boarding/off-boarding process from an IT perspective
  • Manage phone system; landline and mobile devices and services
  • Work YCJ/YCA IT team for email, VPN, phone, Microsoft tool support
Productivity rooms and workspaces
  • Deploy state of the art workspaces and technology based productivity tools, including AV equipment (consoles , camera, sound, etc.) and video conferencing
  • Support SW tools and business systems
    • Windows Desktop Operating Systems (Win7/8/10), Microsoft Office Suite (2013, 2016 and/ O365), Browsers (IE, Chrome, Edge)
    • ERP, CRM, Salesforce, Jira, etc.
  • Work closely with department managers; determine growth needs of the network and services
  • Maintain deep technical knowledge of the IT industry directions; servers, network, desktop and mobile system


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’ Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in information technology management
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure concepts such as servers, firewalls, switching, routing, DHCP and DNS along with network architecture and client/server technology
  • Experience with, understanding and general troubleshooting of VOIP (SIP, H.323, etc.), Windows, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, CCNA or equivalent MAC OS, Office 365 or other cloud technologies and desktop applications
  • Software development abilities preferred
  • Ability to translate user requests into technical terms and vice versa
